Link: A look at some use cases of Anthropic's Claude Artifacts, which lets users create interactive single-page apps via prompts (Simon Willison/Simon Willison's Weblog)

I extensively used Claude's Artifacts feature this past week to create a variety of interactive Single Page Apps directly within the Claude interface. This tool allows for rapid prototyping or even creating solutions to immediate problems.

I built several utilities, including a QR Code Decoder, URL to Markdown converter, and a tool that extracts URLs from texts. Each project often took less than five minutes to complete.

Some highlights include a live YAML to JSON converter and an OpenAI Audio integration. These projects showcase the potential of using Claude to interact with external APIs.

Despite enjoying the capabilities of Claude Artifacts, I encountered some frustrations due to restrictions like the inability to make API calls or manage forms. Such limitations are prompting me to consider developing my own version of this tool.

If you haven't experimented with Claude's Artifacts, my experiences might inspire you to explore this innovative feature. It simplifies the creation of custom tools that can enhance productivity and solve real-world issues efficiently.

Check out my detailed projects and even more examples on my claude-artifacts tag, showcasing the wide range of applications this feature can support.
