Link: Adobe’s new Photoshop app for iPhone is more like the real thing
Adobe has launched a new Photoshop app for mobile devices, providing advanced features similar to the desktop version. The app allows seamless project transitions across devices, with releases already on iPhone and Android expected later.
While Photoshop Express has been available since 2010, the new app includes enhanced capabilities typical of the full Photoshop experience. Features like resizing, masking, and content-aware fill bridge the gap between mobile convenience and professional functionality.
The basic version of the new Photoshop mobile app is free, featuring core editing tools and AI-driven options such as Generative Fill. It also integrates directly with other Adobe Creative Cloud apps.
Additional advanced features, such as Object Select and Magic Wand, are part of a paid subscription which also enhances integration with Photoshop on the web. Pricing for the subscription is set at $7.99 monthly or $69.99 annually.
Existing Adobe subscribers receive access to these premium mobile features at no extra cost. It remains unclear how Adobe will manage the existing Photoshop Express alongside the new app.
The new app's interface is optimized for mobile use, promoting a user-friendly experience that doesn’t compromise on professional-level editing capabilities. This represents a shift towards making professional tools more accessible on mobile devices. #
