Link: Elon Musk’s xAI adds ‘Big Brain’ reasoning to Grok-3
Elon Musk's xAI recently unveiled the Grok-3 AI model, lauding it with “more than 10 times” the computing power than its precursor. The company claims Grok-3 outshines rivals including OpenAI’s GPT-4o and Google’s Gemini in early tests.
Grok-3 is built with advanced reasoning tools that simplify complex queries into manageable tasks and fact-check before responding. This model is designed to provide more accurate results by breaking down and scrutinizing instructions.
xAI has introduced two specific reasoning modes for Grok-3: “Think” for task resolution processes, and “Big Brain” for more challenging tasks that demand heightened computing strength.
Complementing this, xAI announced a new product named Deep Search, described as a next-generation search engine. Meanwhile, Musk emphasizes that Grok-3 prioritizes uncovering the truth, even when it may contradict popular opinion.
The Grok-3’s capabilities are accessible through the Grok app for users subscribed to X Premium Plus, now priced at $40 monthly after recent price hikes. xAI is also preparing to offer a pricier plan named SuperGrok, with premium features and early access to innovations.
In addition to software advancements, the Grok chatbot is set to acquire a new voice feature akin to OpenAI’s. xAI plans to make previous Grok model versions open source soon. #
