Link: Gamers Nexus claims NZXT’s Flex PC rental program is a ‘scam’

A YouTube video from Gamers Nexus claims NZXT's PC rental program uses deceptive practices, with fluctuating prices and specifications. The Flex program offers rented prebuilt gaming PCs starting from $59 a month, excluding peripherals.

NZXT reportedly changes the specs and prices of its PC models frequently, some changes occurring daily, making it difficult for customers to track real value. Gamers Nexus presents evidence that similar model names offer vastly different setups based on whether the customer chooses to buy or rent.

In their analysis, Gamers Nexus finds discrepancies in hardware for the same model under different purchase options. For example, the Player: Three PC lists different graphics cards based on whether it's bought or rented, yet claims the same gaming performance.

The pricing structure of the Flex program might end up costing customers more than outright purchasing a PC. Additionally, the program includes stringent terms of service.

The Verge contacted NZXT for comments on these accusations but did not receive an immediate response. There has been no official response on the company's community platforms or social media either.

Gamer's Nexus's editor-in-chief Steve Burke criticized the performance claims as misleading, with minor terminology misleading potential customers. "We just think this is a scam at this point," remarked Burke. #
