Link: Google can turn your Discover feed into an AI-generated podcast

Google is testing a new AI feature, Daily Listen, which personalizes podcasts based on users’ search history and interactions. This feature, part of Google's Search Labs, is available for Android and iOS users in the US.

Daily Listen crafts a short, five-minute audio overview of news articles likely to interest the user, referencing their search data and Discover feed usage.

It also includes a text transcript and audio controls for an enhanced listening experience, allowing users to play, pause, or skip stories.

Initial access to Daily Listen is available through a personalized widget found under the search bar in the Google app.

Users can interact with the content via the "Related stories" tab, approving or disapproving stories and exploring new topics.

The public availability of Daily Listen remains uncertain; however, its testing approach mirrors that of Google’s AI Search Overviews, which were eventually released to a broader audience.
