Link: Google Meet’s AI transcripts will automatically create action items for you

Google Meet's note-taking feature, powered by Gemini, has been enhanced to automatically generate checklists of next steps for Workspace teams. Each task includes due dates and assigns a primary stakeholder.

The feature, launched last August, has shown promising results in improving meeting efficiency by summarizing discussions into actionable steps.

Gemini's voice-to-text service effectively identifies different speakers and creates an accurate transcript of meetings, though it occasionally has errors.

This transcript is then turned into a structured summary in a Google Doc, which is shared with all meeting participants automatically.

I'm cautious about replacing human creativity with AI, but this tool might prove useful for routine note-taking, assuming privacy concerns are managed.

The rollout of this new feature begins today but at a slower pace to ensure the quality and performance are up to Google's standards. #
