Link: Google’s new AI video model Veo 2 will cost 50 cents per second | TechCrunch
Google has disclosed the costs for its new video-generating AI, Veo 2, which is priced at 50 cents per second. This means using Veo 2 can cost $30 per minute or $1,800 per hour.
According to a Google DeepMind researcher, producing one second of video via Veo 2 is significantly cheaper than one second of footage from a high-budget film like "Avengers: Endgame," which cost about $32,000 per second.
The application of Veo 2 by customers may vary as not all generated video content is utilized to its full extent.
Also, Google highlights that Veo 2 is currently suited for creating shorter video clips rather than long cinematic productions.
For comparison, OpenAI offers access to its Sora video generation model through a subscription of $200 a month included in the ChatGPT Pro package.
This release positions Google competitively in the evolving market of AI-driven video production tools. #
