Link: HP is buying Humane and shutting down the AI Pin

Humane is selling a majority of its company to HP for $116 million and discontinuing its AI Pin, as announced today.

AI Pins in circulation will function until 3PM ET on February 28th, after which they will lose connection to Humane's servers and consequently, all cloud-based features.

Humane advises users to download any stored data from their Pins before it is permanently erased following the shutdown.

Offline features like showing the battery level will remain operational, but any functionalities requiring cloud access will cease.

Refunds for AI Pins are available within a 90-day return window, and pro-rated subscriptions will be refunded after February 28th.

HP's acquisition includes Humane’s CosmOS, over 300 patents, and the integration of Humane’s technical team into a new division at HP called HP IQ, specializing in AI innovations.
