Link: Josh King’s viral slide-out MagSafe gamepad found a home at OhSnap and looks amazing

19-year-old Josh King aims to revolutionize mobile gaming with a 3D-printed gamepad that has evolved into a compact, highly functional device. OhSnap, a company known for its magnetic accessories, is refining King's design and transforming it into a sleek gamepad attachment for smartphones.

The gamepad is not only portable, fitting easily into a pocket, but also features a MagSafe-compatible magnet system for easy attachment.

It retracts under the phone, making it unnecessary to remove for regular phone use, and includes a spring-loaded arm that pops out and tilts the device towards the user.

Advanced features of the OhSnap Mcon include Nintendo Switch-esque analog sticks with drift-resistant sensors, clickable buttons, and a comprehensive set of gaming controls.

The device also has fold-out grips for a more traditional gamepad feel.

After initial attempts to launch his own company and facing financial issues, King partnered with OhSnap.

OhSnap plans to kickstart fundraising through Kickstarter on January 2nd to finalize production.

I am scheduled to test the prototype next month at CES 2025 in Las Vegas and will update on its performance. #
