Link: LinkedIn is training AI models on your data

LinkedIn has automatically opted users into allowing their data to be used for training generative AI models. According to 404Media, LinkedIn added a new privacy setting for this before detailing it in their updated privacy policy.

LinkedIn's updated policy now openly states it will utilize user data to develop AI technologies and provide more tailored services. As TechCrunch highlighted, this adjustment aims to enhance user experience through automation and AI insights.

Users concerned about their privacy can opt out. Go to the "Data privacy" section in your settings and disable the "Data for Generative AI Improvement" option.

If you opt out, LinkedIn will stop using your data for model training moving forward, though it won't affect any training that has previously occurred. This step ensures your data won't contribute to future AI developments.

For those outside the use of generative AI, notably in the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, LinkedIn ensures model training excludes personal data by using privacy enhancing technologies. The company is cautious about regulatory requirements.

Further, if users want to withdraw from other machine learning initiatives like personalization and moderation, they need to complete the LinkedIn Data Processing Objection Form. This form provides an additional layer of control over personal data usage #
