Link: Microsoft’s Steam-like browser overlay is now available on Windows 11

Microsoft has officially launched its Edge Game Assist feature for Windows 11, enhancing in-game support with a new browser overlay. This tool, accessible via the Game Bar, displays tips and guides tailored to the currently played game.

The rollout follows extensive beta testing and is now part of the stable Microsoft Edge release. Gamers can activate this feature by navigating to the Game Assist settings within the Edge browser.

According to William Devereux, senior product manager, the feature initially supports a selection of popular games with plans to expand based on user feedback. Additional games such as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Marvel Rivals, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard have already been integrated.

Game Assist not only provides game-specific assistance but also allows browsing of other sites and guides during gameplay. It operates seamlessly with your main Edge browser, utilizing the same cookies and autofill data.

Microsoft has enhanced the utility of Game Assist by incorporating support for browser extensions like ad blockers. Future updates will include keyboard shortcut functionality and an improved picture-in-picture mode.

This development represents Microsoft's continuing efforts to integrate web-based features into the gaming experience, promising a more fluid and resourceful gameplay environment for Windows 11 users. #
