Link: NFL allows private equity firms to invest in teams
p>The NFL will allow some private equity firms to buy up to 10% stake in a team. Approved firms include Ares Management, Arctos Partners and Sixth Street, among others.
These firms plan to invest $12 billion in up to six NFL teams each.
The decision was taken at a meeting in Eagan, Minnesota by the NFL's 32 owners.
Investors are asked to commit a minimum of $2 billion and hold their investments for at least six years.
The league has the intention to share the private equity profits on future sales of ownership stakes.
Arctos Partners is ahead with permission to invest in all five major North American leagues. #
