Link: Nvidia announces DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation

Nvidia unveils DLSS 4, a major update to its Deep Learning Super Sampling technology, promising massive performance enhancements. This new version introduces Multi Frame Generation capabilities on RTX 50 Series GPUs, potentially increasing frame rates by up to 8X.

DLSS 4 will make 4K 240fps, fully ray-traced gaming achievable, as it leverages neural rendering for superior visual fidelity. Additionally, an update applicable to all GeForce RTX GPUs will refine DLSS games with advanced AI models akin to those used in tools like ChatGPT.

The company reports its new frame generation model is 40 percent faster and consumes 30 percent less VRAM than the previous version. This significant efficiency boost implicates better gaming performance across supported titles.

Nvidia initially introduced DLSS 3 with Frame Generation more than two years ago, then followed up with DLSS 3.5 in August 2023, featuring AI-enhanced Ray Reconstruction. These developments have set the stage for the comprehensive updates seen in DLSS 4.

Currently, more than 600 games and applications support Nvidia's RTX technology. At launch, 75 games and apps will enhance their performance with DLSS 4's Multi Frame Generation, including high-profile titles like Alan Wake 2 and Cyberpunk 2077.
