Link: Nvidia’s latest AI trick made our mediocre webcam mic sound practically professional
Nvidia continues to innovate with its latest "Studio Voice" feature, transforming mediocre microphone audio into high-quality output. This was tested by using a subpar Logitech webcam microphone, which significantly improved with the new feature active.
The enhancement is part of an update to the Nvidia Broadcast app, which also includes a "Virtual Key Light" feature intended to simulate professional lighting.
Although the lighting tool was less impressive in initial tests, it aims to provide balanced illumination to mimic a physical key light.
Nvidia has also introduced a somewhat unsettling ability to deepfake user's eye movements to maintain constant eye contact during video calls.
This functionality, alongside the improved voice and lighting features, requires powerful RTX 4080 or 5090 graphics cards and is not recommended for gaming due to high resource demands.
Nvidia's ongoing updates to the Broadcast app enhance various aspects like voice quality, eye contact realism, and background separation, maintaining its edge in video and audio enhancement technology.
