Link: Perplexity’s AI search engine can now buy products for you

Perplexity has introduced a convenience feature for Pro subscribers enabling onsite purchases directly through its AI search engine. Pro members in the US can now use a "Buy with Pro" button to instantly order products with pre-saved information.

All products bought using the "Buy with Pro" feature will include free shipping. If the "Buy with Pro" option is unavailable, users will be redirected to the merchant's website.

Product availability for direct purchase is visibly indicated on Perplexity's product cards. Sara Platnick, a spokesperson for Perplexity, clarified that currently, there are no financial incentives attached to the feature.

Non-Pro users will also benefit from enhanced AI shopping features, which now display redesigned product cards with comprehensive details. These cards are visible during product-related searches.

Additionally, Perplexity is launching “Snap to Shop,” a new tool allowing users to snap a picture of a product and quickly find information about it. This innovative tool is initially available only to Pro subscribers.

On another front, Perplexity is advancing its merchant support through a new program that offers insights into search and shopping trends, potentially boosting product visibility and recommendations. #
