Link: Solos challenges Meta’s Ray-Bans with $299 ChatGPT smart glasses

Solos has launched the AirGo Vision smart glasses to compete with Meta's Ray-Bans, priced at $299. These glasses are equipped with a camera and integrate with OpenAI’s GPT-4o AI model, enhancing user interaction with their environment.

The AirGo Vision glasses offer features like real-time text translation, navigational assistance, and detailed information about objects in view. Additionally, they support other AI models such as Google Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude.

These smart glasses also allow for photo capture, similar to Meta’s offering. Additionally, they feature a swappable frame system, which lets users choose to use the camera or go without it, offering versatility in usage.

A major focus for Solos during development was user privacy and control, as emphasized by co-founder Kenneth Fan. The frames are designed to be easily interchangeable, allowing consumers to decide on the presence of a camera based on their needs.

The frames come in two styles, Krypton 1 and Krypton 2, and are available in seven different colors. The Krypton 1 has a bolder, square design, while the Krypton 2 offers a slimmer look.

Solos provides options to buy just the frame for $149 or purchase a bundle with both camera and regular frames for $349, enhancing privacy management for users. #
