Link: Spotify now automatically creates an offline playlist when you lose internet

Spotify has unveiled a new feature ensuring uninterrupted music play when you lose internet connectivity. The Offline Backup playlist, which evolves based on what you frequently listen to, automatically curates songs you've recently streamed or queued up.

Previously, Spotify enabled tracks and playlists to be downloaded manually for offline listening. This new feature offers seamless music availability without the need for prior content downloading.

When your device loses internet connection, the Offline Backup playlist immediately becomes accessible. It appears prominently in the home feed of the Spotify app anytime you go offline.

The creation of this playlist requires having offline listening activated and a history of listening to at least five recent songs. Also, it's a perk reserved exclusively for Spotify's premium subscribers.

The content of Offline Backup can be customized, allowing you to sort music by artist, mood, or genre. Spotify ensures that the playlist remains dynamic, never sticking to the same set of tracks.

The feature was initially introduced by Spotify CEO Daniel Ek as "Your Offline Mix." It bears similarities to adaptive offline offerings from other services, such as YouTube Music and Netflix, which tailor downloads based on user preferences. #
