Link: T-Mobile’s parent company is making an ‘AI Phone’ with Perplexity Assistant

Deutsche Telekom announced a new AI-powered phone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, promising an app-less experience primarily controlled by voice.

The device, named "AI Phone," will incorporate Magenta AI and provide access to various AI tools such as Perplexity Assistant, Google Cloud AI, ElevenLabs, and Picsart.

Last year, the concept promised functionalities similar to other large action model products like the Rabbit R1, capable of booking flights and making restaurant reservations through voice commands.

In addition to the AI Phone, Deutsche Telekom will integrate these AI features into the MeinMagenta app, making them accessible on existing smartphones.

The AI Phone, expected to launch later this year, appears to be a midrange Android device based on released images showing a simple design with prominent bezels.

Deutsche Telekom's board member, Claudia Nemat, highlighted that the AI Phone would simplify tasks such as booking taxis and shopping without needing to switch apps. #
