Link: TCL’s new Nxtpaper phones have a dedicated button for maximum monochrome
TCL is launching two new midrange Nxtpaper phones, the TCL 50 Pro Nxtpaper 5G and 50 Nxtpaper 5G, both featuring matte displays that are easy on your eyes. Initially available in Europe, there's hope these models will also reach the US market.
The unique "Nxtpaper key" on these devices includes a two-stage slider that enters a monochrome reader mode, mimicking an e-ink display. This Max Ink Mode also silences notifications and alters app icons to a wireframe style, enhancing focus and extending battery life.
Outside of Max Ink Mode, both phones boast a 6.8-inch 1080p display with a 120Hz refresh rate. They are equipped with a high-resolution 108-megapixel main camera and a substantial 5,010mAh battery.
The Pro model offers advanced features including a 32-megapixel selfie camera and 512GB of storage. Meanwhile, the standard model includes an 8-megapixel selfie camera and 256GB of storage.
Additionally, the Pro version can be enhanced with optional accessories such as a flip case and a stylus. The TCL 50 Pro Nxtpaper will retail for €299, while the non-Pro model is priced at €229.
The introduction of these phones marks TCL's continued innovation in smartphone technology, blending traditional features with novel reading-friendly functionalities. #
