Link: The YouTube app on Quest will let you co-watch videos with friends in VR

The YouTube app on Meta Quest is introducing a co-watching feature that allows up to eight people to watch videos together in virtual reality. To access this, users need the latest app version and can activate it via the "Co-watch" icon.

Once clicking the “Co-watch” icon, users can invite followers to join by selecting "Invite people" in the subsequent popup.

Note that this feature applies only to 2D content.

Additionally, each participant must individually purchase any paid content they wish to view together.

This update provides a novel way to socialize in VR, offering an alternative to hanging out in Horizon Worlds.

It also presents a different approach to virtual interaction compared to Apple’s Spatial Personas for the Vision Pro. #
