Link: Tiger Woods’ new tech golf league brings big screens to the green in January

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy are launching TGL, a new "tech-infused, team golf league," set to premiere on January 7th at the SoFi Center in Florida. The event will broadcast on ESPN and ESPN Plus.

TGL is essentially a high-tech version of Top Golf held in a stadium where teams drive balls towards a large screen before putting on a dynamic artificial green.

Each match, lasting about two hours, features intense competition among six teams, including Woods' Jupiter Links Golf Club and McIlroy's Boston Common Golf.

The innovative league had a setback as its dome collapsed two months before the planned launch earlier this year. However, it's now on track with an initial match between the New York Golf Club and The Bay Golf Club.

Viewers can watch the matches live on ESPN channels or stream them on ESPN Plus, with TGL running through March 25th.

Tickets for live viewing at the Palm Beach Gardens venue start at $160, with presales beginning October 28th. #
