Link: Toyota unveils Woven City to test future mobility

Toyota has introduced the first section of its experimental Woven City in Susono, Shizuoka Prefecture, designed to innovate mobility technologies.

The area features roads for autonomous vehicles and underground "logistics streets" to test automated delivery services.

According to Toyota Chairman Akio Toyoda, Woven City aims to be the birthplace of future mobility solutions.

The 47,000 square meter first phase includes residential units and various facilities supporting innovation among inventors and residents.

Woven City plans to expand to 700,000 square meters and will eventually house around 2,000 people, continuing to test new technologies.

Described as an "eternally unfinished city", it serves as a dynamic laboratory for developing and testing future technologies. #
