Link: Waze will soon let you report incidents with your voice

Waze is introducing a voice-activated feature allowing users to report traffic incidents by speaking naturally. This capability aims to enhance safety by minimizing distractions while driving.

The app's new functionality utilizes the Gemini AI model to interpret the user's spoken descriptions of traffic conditions.

If a report is unclear, Waze will ask clarifying questions to ensure accurate information gathering.

Currently, incident reporting on Waze requires users to select options manually, which can be cumbersome on the road. The update aims to simplify this process using voice commands.

The voice reporting feature is initially available to select testers on Android and iOS platforms in English.

Later this year, Waze plans to include global maps of school zones to promote safer driving near schools. #
