Avi Schiffmann discussed his latest venture, an artificial intelligence (AI) companion named 'Friend.' The AI, originally named 'Tab', is embedded in a wearable pendant and has been Schiffmann’s development project for several years. Unlike productivity-focused AIs such as Microsoft's 'Recall' or Humane’s 'AI Pin', 'Friend' has a different goal — companionship. Rather than augmenting tasks, it aims to provide emotional support and act as a brainstorming partner for its users. For Schiffmann, 'Friend' is not designed to replace human interactions but to complement them. He predicts that personal AI companions like 'Friend' could become a common part of people's social circles, offering convenience and companionship. #
